Nature of Winter Snowshoe Tours 2012

The North Cascades Basecamp has teamed up with The Methow Valley Sport Trails Association (MVSTA) to hosts snowshoe tours throughout the winter months. Local naturalists lead tours highlighting winter ecology, wildlife and tracks, snow conditions and more.  These family-friendly tours leave from the North Cascades Basecamp in Mazama at 11:00 a.m. on the scheduled dates below.   Call the North Cascades Basecamp for private snowshoe tours on dates not listed in the schedule:  509/ 996-2334.

MVSTA snowshoe trail passes ($5) are required. People who have purchased a pass for the ski trails, however, can use that pass on snowshoe trails as well and don’t need to buy another pass.  Trail passes and snowshoe rentals are available in Mazama at the North Cascades Basecamp, or the Mazama Ski Shop.  Reservations are not required; space is available on a first-come, first-serve basis and limited to 10 participants. Tours last 90 to 120 minutes. We recommend that you dress warmly and pack a snack and water.   Call MVSTA at 996-3287 or email events@mvsta.com for more information.

Snow Shoe Rentals and Trail Passes at the North Cascades Basecamp
$12 for 2 hours, $16 for 4 hours, $19 all day, $13 each additional full day
MVSTA snowshoe trail passes are $5/day.
