Children & Families at the North Cascades Basecamp | Methow Valley, Washington

Children and Families

North Cascade Basecamp welcomes families. When planning a visit, please ask for room accommodations that are most suitable to your family. The owners have young children themselves and all seasons are extremely conducive to children at the Basecamp. In the winter, enjoy the sledding hill, snowshoeing and skiing on easy terrain, snow cave and snowmen building, and the bonfire for stories and song. During snow free seasons, the swimming and frog ponds, hiking trails, rock climbing on Goat Wall and a nature-based playground at the Basecamp are welcoming to kids (and therefore parents). Feeding the chickens and collecting eggs are also favorite activities for many of our adult and kid guests. For younger children, our Kid's Space in the lodge is equipped with children's books, toys, and games. Programs and naturalist walks can be open to younger participants (under 10 years) with advanced notice. Call for further information.

You don't need to bring so much gear! Ask for availability of the Basecamp's Pack-n-Play, Child-carrying backpack, toddler skis, and junior snowshoes
